Guys -

Just purchased HIN PLCWF019H394 - a '94 231 with a bracket - and I have a few questions, if you wouldn't mind.  (I've exchanged e-mails with Mike, who directed me to some nice folks at the factory, but it seems I'm either leaving too early or getting home to late to call.)

1) I wonder what you might be able to tell me about the boat?  Specifically, I'm wondering wood or foam, but also specs, etc.
2) are there any plans or drawings available to locate stuff like tanks, seacocks, etc.?
3) Are the original waterlines scribed or molded into the hull?  (A PO Baltoplated way above the waterline, and since the boat is now in the freshwater of Lake Erie, extraordinary measures aren't necessary.)
4) The seafoam green graphics . . . what were you guys thinking?

Thanks for anything you can tell me.

Good choice of boat I suggest. Cheers

about 25'5" rubrail to pulpit, hull about 23.5 waterline low 20s.
12 pass capacity , check  CG plate.
sink stove , short bunk, neat closed helmpod, draining deck.
I think you are in the interim as far as wood, I think you may have some wood  but not sure, my 96 has no structural wood(transom and stringers etc,) you could drill test holes inside and above water line in transom and stringers if you cant find answer . your may be nonwood. my only  detectable wood is under bunk storage lids and maybe locker sides.

your fuel tank is probably centerline with about 138gal with capacity plate mounted on top visible through center deckplate near sender unit.
back deckplate will have a fuel shutoff valve.
only seacocks likely on either/or baitpump or washdown pump in a stern bilge.

Your water tank is probably port mounted flexible plastic under stove , pump probably  in port "Wing"  behind tackle box or access plate (ahead of passenger seat. lower left) could be anywhere 5-10gallon guess in middle 7 gallon capacity.
you will have drain for anchor rode locker in bow , very small.
water tank vent port side  mid, fuel tank vent stbd side midship, forward bilge outlet small port midship
fishlocker drains large midship  1 each side, helm floor drains ,small 1 each side mid
deck drains large  each aft corner, lowest holes there,

transom well /bait tank drains T into  port aft corner (upper hole large)
aft main bilge pump large outlet stbd side , uppermost hole.

explore a little you will learn much.
water line is not marked as such I believe, varies with load and options.
let me know if you are looking for a specific item , most 231s are pretty similar but mine is I/o not OB bracket.

also, visit and donate to SEAbob4s site as well as this one and share your findings with the rest of us , bob is the proline guy, used to work there , fixes and rigs boats freelance in  NW Florida area.

sorry i dint know the words PO & "baltoplated" but am willing to learn something knew.

Green was big in 94, that's why first owner bought it? remember green car craze.
" The Cushion guy" can redo any vinyl or cloth to your liking int or ext.

proline may have some of the graphics , you may want to get some from another year if you want, they are notoriously expensive from what Ive heard, proline would be well served to make them economical because they are one of their best marketing tools (when Your 65NM  out with gradys, whalers, parkers, shamrocks, davis, faralon, radon, osprey, defiance,Bertram's etc etc it shows you are in the right league and likely influences fishermen contemplating purchase.)

there may also  be a hull manual avail from Farron or someone at PL? Thumbs Up

What an amazing amount of information - thanks for taking the time to reply.  As I prowl around getting the boat ready to splash, I'm learning more and more.  But I'm basically a sailor and appreciate the guidance in finding my way around my first powerboat.  (I bought it originally for running sailboat races - the requirements of a good race committee boat and a good fishing boat are, strangely, very similar - but I'm discovering there's a whole world of other fun to be had.)

Thanks again for the wealth of information.  (PO = Previous Owner, and makes cursing while correcting problems more efficient.)

I too work sailboat races but not often on my Proline, We use a 19ft Center console for that. we place racemarks on course, catch fallen sailors, observe rule compliance, advise marine traffic,  and water taxi racers+general safety
.
But when they ride on my proline they love it. most of them are used to a wet dinghy full of bird doo .

I used to sail and would again but another boat in the stable isnt in the forecast right now

take  a picture with your phone of any  questionable items and post if required.
