Macerator Pump

My macerator pump was working fine for my two in floor fish boxes then last weekend it stopped pumping out.  Motor is running but no water getting pumped out of the boxes.  I pulled the hoses off of macerator and flushed with garden hose but same problem.  One thing I did notice is that one time I pulled off the overboard discharge hose and the pump began to pump water out.  Later it stopped again.  Any thoughts?  Hate to replace because pump is running and of course the cost.  Thanks..

Assuming yours is a Johnson Pump, you can buy a new impeller. Johnson Pump F3B Service Kit.

Thank you, I will try that.  Just another thought, my previous boat had fish boxes that had a gravity drain for them.  Has anyone found a way to bypass the pump and allow the boxes to drain on their own.  The boat is a 2003 23 sport (became the 24 Super sport), fish boxes are in the floor.

If you don't care if you have fish slime/guts/scales in the bilge, disconnect the drain hoses and let the boxes drain into the bilge, let the bilge pump take care of it...but I wouldn't...
