I have the same boat with twin 225 4-stroke outboards. Mine is a 2004 30WA. I can get between 1.4-1.7 MPG. That's running about 27-29 mph. Generally I cruise at 30 mph getting 1.4-1.5 mpg. Top end with these motors is 43-45 mph depending on load.

I have heard that a good formula for estimating fuel consumption is to take the horsepower and multiply by .10, so  a 150 would get approx 15.0 gallons per hour a 225 would be 22.5 gallons per hour.

1 MPG seems pretty bad, but I think that's about right for ur boat. I have a 30 walk with twin 225 optis and I average approx 1.2 or 1.3 MPG. I used to have a 24 walk with a 250 EFI and that was like less than 1 MPG, it was pretty bad. I guess you'd have to go with the four strokes to see a noted improvement, but unless you absolutely need a repower, it wouldnt be worth the expense.
