Hello, I recently purchased a 1996 PROLINE 2950 thats in dire need of a headliner. The exisiting headliner has stains and is sagging in a few spots. It looks like it shrunk over time and may not be reusable. I talked to a few Upholsterers but they were not interested in doing the work.?.  Any help is really appreciated. Thanks.

Bo,

I believe that the sagging headliner is a common problem on the 2950 Walkaround.  To rectify the problem on boat, I cut several teak slats, approx. 2" wide x 3/8" thick, and screwed them up into the ceiling.  Properly spaced, they add a nice touch of class and holds up the headliner very effectively.  I will email photos if you want.

I have a '95 231wa with the same problem. Would love to see pics if it isn't too much problem.

Re-gluing won't work unless you use new material & scrape all the old glue off the sides of the cabin, so for now I took a 2x4, put notches in it and wedged it along the sides on top of the counter & rail, which pulls it tighter. I'm hoping to be able to do something more permanent this winter.

Thanks for the response. I did get a quote for repairs which came in at $1800. Was a fairprice and I was going to have it done but I sold the boat before I got a chance.
