I started the boat up for the first time since Nov. Both oil tanks are 3/4 full, running on muffs and smokes like normal. My oil warning light/buzzer comes on. Any ideas?

Had the same thing with a Merc 175 XR 2 V6 turned out to be frayed wires on the small motor mounted oil tank cap

I might not understand the problem, but anytime the small remote reservoir on my Merc is less than completely full, my warning buzzer sounds.
Try topping it off, ensure the screw top on the remote reservoir is on correctly, and see what happens.
