We never built a boat that had the gas vent on the other side of the boat from the gas fill. The vent you see on the port side would be for your fresh water tank. If your gas fill is plastic the vent is on the gas fill.

jp,
I am now on another project.  It is progressing, but a little slower than I think one would like.

She will turn out to be an awesome boat, though.  I'll keep you guys updated as she gets built... Thumbs Up

Prop Question. I have the 24.1 1999 WA with a 5.7 Mercruiser,  with a 2 Bl carb, and a Bravo II. I need to replace the prop but the one on there seems big to me. It looks to be an Alum. 16' with a 21 pitch and I get aroun 5300 rpms a WOT. What does proline recomend for this set up?

Bravo IIs run a very big prop.  The drive is really appropriate for large heavy boats.

Hey Bob,
i have a 20ft Sport CC, 1999 model. There are two removable jump seats at the stern of the boat and inboard of these seats are two recessed cup holders, mine blew out somewere in the gulf (lol) and I'm looking for replacements. The ones I've found at West marine,Bass pro, gander mt and even Wal-Mart seem to be to small. Any help would be appreciated.

Hello Bob,
I'm having a problem with fuel supply on a 2003 22' Walk. Is there a screen at the bottom of the pickup that might be affected by ethanol? And what would be the best way to check the tank vent? It fills quickly with no burping or splashback, so this may not be an issue anyway.
The engine is a Merc 200, carbeurated. It quits after a few minutes in rough water (high demand) but re-starts easily, idles OK (low demand) and then quits again over 4,000 rpm.
Thanks for you help,

Bob,

I have a 2000 27 sport and would like to get away with repower of a single 350 four stroke. Can this work? If so what shaft will be best the 25 or 30"? I was told the transom may not be able to handle the torque?

Fg1 disconnect fuel hose after primer bulb, squeese a few shots into a large glass jar at high rate of flow ,or pull it through with a suction device like a large syringe or oil extractor. any restriction should be evident, does primer bulb collapse when its about to occur?
if not your screen is likeley ok.
also you can puff/ blow back down hose to see if its excessivly restricted and that will often clear it up temp.
ethanol is mainly a problem when it combines with water and sepparates from fuel and sinks to bottom of tank.
the wet alcohol will restrict filter paper.
check for leaks ,bends cracks etc in fuel feed system as well
always try a new filter even if you are running an almost new filter.

check tank vent by blowing through it back into tank with "oral" special tool if you can get too it , pull away quickly and listen when and if slightly pressurized air tries to come back out.(it should) try it with fill off and tank shouldnt pressurize.

also make sure fuel valve  lever is turned "on" all the way at tank pickup.
but dont suck on it or you may get an octane shooter

The transom will handle it the Yam or Verado 350, but I think she needs more power.  I'd throw a pair of 225s on her...

But money being what it is, single engine, 30" shaft...
