So, i push the auto bilge pump switch's PTT and nothing happens Angry. The helm switch works fine. I undo some wires and the continuity of the auto swich works when the PTT is depressed...so the switch is fine.

I find the auto bilge pump 15 amp fuse (against the transom, port side) and thats OK and there is pos current out the fuse.

There is no current running to either end of the wires that splice to the auto switch. The heavy red wire runs forward towards the helm. The other splices into the hot side of the manual switch and has current when the helm switch is thrown.

My next step is to trace this red wire back toward the helm but there is a jungle of red wires that connect to the bus bars there and all those fuses check OK. Anyone know if there is a wire connection between the stern and the helm or an easier way to trace out this bad wire??? Banging Head Banging Head

Probably easier to run a slave wire to see if it works.  If so, cut the current line and use the slave line.

Well, it only looked like that hot auto lead ran forward to the helm...............

It actually, ran towards the starboard stern corner and made a 180 degree bend back towards the transom. I pulled off an access panel back in that corner and quickly discovered a corroded wire splice. Problem solved! Cheers
