Mark,
This is an ongoing saga.  I have an email to a Merc field engineer that he has yet to respond to (brisprincess can attest to that), he is a good friend of mine and I await his response.  Don't sink any money into SS props until you know the outcome and the recommendations.

I believe it is time for a primer on proper engine mounting heights and the effects of a boats weight on performance.

Just give it a bit.  Black Max's work fine on light boats with light loads.  We use them on our Pro-Lites, and they perform fine.  But for a 20/21 Walk with a 150 Verado, SS is the way to go.

Sorry for late response been on vacation.....will wait to hear what happens.  I know my walk is probably heavier than most cause I fish heavily with lot's of equipment and people.  Looking forward to a response.  Thanks

Guys,
A quote from Joey over at THT.

Quote
I just rigged a 20 Sport (same hull but a little lighter) with a 150 Merc EFI and put the 17p Vengeance back on and the boat ran very well hitting 5700 RPMs trimmed out. Also, I moved the engine up one hole from where Pro Line had it set, it ran very well throughout the RPM range.

17" pitch seems to be a common denominator in this whole saga.  But take careful note of the engine height change.  That is just as important as proper prop selection.  Maybe that's what has been missing from this great "equation"...

When we came out with the latest "incarnation" of the 20 Sport in '06, I was out in the river with our Suzuki Engineer (bear with me) and he insisted that I made sure the cav plate was at the water's surface at WOT.  We we're running a 140 and hit around 43 MPH with a 14 X 17, bumping the rev limiter...

Perhaps it's not about the prop, it may be engine height...but 17" pitch seems to be the magic number.

JMHO.  I haven't forgot about this, Joyce. Cheers Cheers
