Here It is Im in the process of selling my 1998 202 DC. I want to buy a 23 or 24 ft walk.  I would like it to be a proline. The 231 seems to be a favorite for some reason. The reason I would like the specs. is for towing purposes. I do not want to buy a new truck. Also I would like to buy used due to cost. Can anyone help.

Dog,
Can it wait until Monday?  I don't have the specs at home.

hey dog,
i have a 23xp with a honda 225 on it. the owners manual says 3900lbs with trailer and 588lbs dry weight for the motor.  the gas tank holds 125 gals so i would say add on another 750lbs (one gal of gas weighs about 6lbs more or less).  so maybe a close guess would be about 5250lbs.  dont forget all the stuff youre going to throw on the boat too.  hope that helps, korey.

Thanks Korey.  Im figuring a 23 walk should be around 6000 to 6500 with trailer. More than that my Tundta might have a problem.

hey dog,
your tundra should have no problems towing the boat.  ive seen tacomas tow 21 and 23 foot boats around here.  the thing people forget is that they also have to stop the boat.  make sure the trailer for the boat has brakes and youll be fine either way with the 23 or 24.  it might be a required thing for boats of this size but you never know.  korey

Korey,
You know, and I'm sure Dog does as well, that any boat in the 23'-24' length is going to need a dual axle trailer and will require brakes.   Cheesy

I have been doing more research here is what I have com up with so far.
proline 23 ft walk   3800 lbs
Merc 225 hp ob      600 lbs
80 gals. of fuel         600 lbs
 double axle trailer  1200 lbs
  with brakes
 Miss. Stuff            500 lbs

 Total dose this
 look realistic        6700 lbs

I hope this is it my tundra is only rated for 7600 lbs. Thank good I only want to trailer the boat twice a year.

Dog,
You're Tundra will handle the 23 with no problem.  Hell, she'll tow it to Alaska and back.

But remember, if you do any kind of serious towing, an oil cooler and tranny cooler are cheap insurance for your motor. Wink
