How do you fish for cuda's? Like I have said I have never done fishing from a boat and now that I own a big one I would love to do some cuda fishing but not sure how to setup the rigs and what bait/lure to use.

I have never eaten cuda, i hear they are good, but I am always worried about cigatera or whatever its called, in the bigger ones.

They make excellent grouper bait cut up. Good for shark to if you leave em alive and bleedin.

Go to any marina, and tell them you are going to catch some Cudas they will give you everything ready, basically you have to use a long metal leader, 2' or more, you can use the rubber hoses they have, live bait (sardines) or just trolling with ballyhoo and double hook, they sale this ready in the marinas... and have fun, they fight really nice, the biggest one in the picture almost took the rod out of my boy... he fight it a little and then give it to me.

About eating there are tons of myth about the Cudas, I always hear that if they are small like this ones and give you battle they are good to go, if they grow too big and don't fight as much, also the scales will come off the skin with your fingers, those are not good 

Best meat you will try in the sea @ least for me

You can catch them anywhere down there. If you have a chum slick going for yellowtail or whatever, you will have Cuda. They are fast, fight like mad, and are pretty dang smart when it comes to eating your fish. They wait till you have one hooked, then they bite it off right below the head....

It depends where the cuda came from as to weather it"s edible or not,the ones caught in the keys and thruout the bahamas are some what desent to eat the ones that come from the middle atlantic are totally worthless for eating and I wouldn't use it for bait except in rare situations,they are one of the quickest fish in the ocean and have lost plenty of 15-30# fish bit off at the head because of them,they are a bigger nuisance that a pool of sharks while trying to fish for good fish ie,dolphin,wahoo,tuna
