Bob, Quick question. Does the 32 Proline Express come with a galvanic isolator and if so where is it located on the boat? I noticed one of my zincs looked etched and the boat is fairly new.

Thanks,
Vic

Vic,
There is a panel in the mid-berth, starboard side, secured with 4-6 screws with button caps.  Remove those screws, drop the panel, and your isolator will be staring you in the face!  It's a ProMariner, BTW.

Hi Vic,

I just wanted to let you know that if you are concerned about the Galvanic Isolator the best way to test it is to do a diode test.

Set your multimeter to the line with the triangle on it or diode test mode and measure from one stud to the other.

In both directions you should see .8 - 1.0 and it takes about a minute for the meter to settle out.

Let me know if you have any questions I would be happy to help.

Jim,
Excellent advice!  I probably could have googled it if I had an issue, but you definitely informed me an the proper functionality/testing procedures...

For all those out there that have shorepower, a galvanic isolator, especially a WORKING one, is a must!  Absolutely for Marina kept boats, or those who moor at a marina in their travels.  Also important for those boats kept in canals behind the house, due to galvanic corrosion inherrant in the seawater types as well as a neighbors faulty feed to his dock/lift... Shocked
