Used a do-it-yourself countertop coating system by Modern Masters Countertop Transformations.
A permanent look of natural stone.

Company and video link.
http://www.modernmasterstransformations.com/applyvideo.shtml

Bought it at Lowes hardware for $250.00. it comes in several different colors.

Old Stove and fiber glass top

New counter coat and flat top stove

Original white fiber glass in bath room

New coated fiber glass in bath room

Some step by steps.

Great job. Looks really nice.

After watching the video though, no way for me. My surface area is about the same size as yours... so maybe that makes it easier, but multi-step processes, I'm too ADD for that. It's all I can do to tie a line to a swivel then a swivel to a leader then a leader to a... hey look at that over there.   Grin

Marking and masking the straight lines out side the countertop and inside the sink took the most time.
Sanding took about 1/2 hour.
Putting the base coat took about 1/2 hour.
Dispensing the chips 15 Min's.
Let dry over night. Vacuum the extra chip and sand till smooth.
Took about 2 hours, went slow on this process not to sand to much off. With all the corners and curves.
Apply the protective coat 1/2 hour.
Removing the tap about 1 1/2 hours because I was concerned I would pull some material off if I removed the masking tape without pre-cutting it.
Reapplied the protective coat to the masked areas that was removed, 15 Min's.
