I need your help. I have tried to post pictures on many posts but they don't take. The latest were PC sized and less than 200KB. These are w/in the guidelines. Resulting error messages (too large or too long to upload). I have DSL...I know its slow but it this the problem?

Because of the attachment error, then when you try to post w/out the attachment........another error message states that you have already posted the body. In fact, this is not the case.

Yikes! Please get this resolved.

Warren,
Now, I don't post the pic as an attachment.  All the pics I post I first upload into my photobucket account, double-click to "select" them, delete the "view=current" BS, than simply copy and paste.  BBB code from there, i.e. "[immg]http://pic[/immg]" (ignore the parens and extra m).

Seems to work for me... Cheers

BTW Warren, have you gone back and read the posts in this thread?  Posting Pics.

It's true of other web-based forums like this one. Posting photos requires a web-based url, ie., each time this thread loads, it pulls the pic from the URL location. I'm pretty sure that's why somtimes pics are no longer present when you're looking through old threads because the url is no longer valid.

Free online photo albums are available. Photobucket as Bob mentioned is one. There's also Snapfish, Shutterfly, and MyPhotoAlbum....all dot coms. I think Google has photo-sharing, and Kodak. I know the first four mentioned are free.

Thanks for the explanation...and "how to".

I was hoping to avoid the photobucket extra link in posting pictures.

Know what you mean.  But since I post pics on here, reelboating.com (250 Osprey there), THT (southsider there), classicaquasport (seabob4 there), I'm kinda used to it...and it seems to work with no headaches... Cheers

Hello fellow Pro-Line owners -I'm new to this forum and really like what I've seen so far its been very helpful to me.
I've been into sailing most of my life and recently figured out I could spend a lot more time on the water with my family in my Pro-line instead sitting at the boat ramps setting up the boat.
I'm glad I found this site and hope it helps me out like this other site I've belonged to for a while called Steve's Nova Site.  If I did this right below is a link to an in depth tutorial on how we post pictures if anyone is interested.

Chuck,
It seems to me that the magic ticket is a hosting site such as photobucket (what I use), then the copy/paste routine followed by BBB code.  Pretty simple, and is almost foolproof to get pics to show up in one's post.

From the looks of your sig pic, you're out west somewhere... Smiley

Yes, Southern California, here are some more pics of Catalina on a glass like day.

This is our favorite hide away cove unless the wind is blowing in there isn't much protection then

There were a ton of dolphins that day had to stop the boat and let them pass must have been over a 100 yards long.

Chuck,
Excellent pics!  Nice to see the Pacific live up to it's name!

Closest I got to Catalina was standing on the beach in Laguna looking at her a few years ago...you're lucky! Cheers Cheers
