I sold my zodiac a few months ago and picked this one up in Santa Cruz. It had been sitting for 3 years and had terrible mold over everything. I rewired the stern panel and replaced a few of the rocker switches along with the 1200gph bilge pump. I added another battery and a isolater switch to run the baitwell, gps, fishfinder and radio. There was a gap under the lid in the baitwell that I had to glass up....factory defect???/ The center console grab rail was sitting to high to enter my garage, so modified its position to allow it to be stored in the garage. Thats just the short list to the boat...on and on it goes. I am towing with Tacoma V6, so I added a Tie down 10" disk brake and Titan surge coupler with reverse solenoid, this makes stopping a reality instead of a dream. The kit was super easy to install, so anybody contemplating disk brakes, do it complete kit was $450. The kit has flexible rubber hoses, so we'll see how they handle with PSI being generated, might replace with stainless tubing in the near future. The Johnson 115 lower unit was drained to check the gear oil status, clean as heck and no water, whew. Put in new gear oil, 26 ounces, replaced the O rings on the screws, and flushed all fluids out the gas tank and oil injection tank, also replace the water/fuel seperator filter. After working on this I finally realized was BOAT really means, " Bust Out Another Thousand", and that indeed is true. I took her to Pyramid two weeks ago. It didn't start right up, which sweated me out for a bit, but it fired up as soon as I primed the bulb....is there a forest fire somewhere??? My engine was smoking like crazy......a minute or two latter and the smoking stops, so my apologies to anyone who smoked out at the launch ramp at pyramid......latter I found out the cold start technique, the guy I bought it from told me to prime by pushing in the key at least 3 times.....this floods the carb with a very rich oil gas mixture, just push it in while starting, not 3 times. She ran great all day, put 5 hours on the meter, added to the 375 she had when I bought her and put a few stripers in the boat. My wife is keeping a list of expenses associated with the boat, and the list keeps growing and growing, hope to see you on the water.

The 9.9 was stolen about two weeks before I bought the boat, soon it will have a 9.9hp fourstroke on it with an engine coupler for easy steering while slow trolling.  Plus it's always nice to be able to get back to the launch if my main takes a dive.
