If water/salt spray has a way of getting past the motor box seal only to leak onto the top of your engine, this is a simple remedy.

Take a length of "U" channel aluminum, about the width of the motor box, and put a slight bend in the center. Attach this to the front of the transom, below the height of the motor box, with a bead of silicon adhesive. This channel will divert the water into the bilge instead of the water collecting on the top of the heads and manifolds.

Great Idea, although I don't have a inboard I appreciate you sharing this as someone is likely to follow up with this suggestion.
