I am still toying with this idea. Currently, with my T-top, I can run 5 lines normally and can expand to 7 when the winds are calm enough to keep lines from crossing. I understand the concept regarding putting the lures out in the clean water but I tend to think the effort and cost will only bring marginalized results

I am thinking that by adding tuna tubes and/or downriggers for deep trolling big baits/lures, I can add a new dimension to my fishing for marlin/YFT/wahoo. I am inclined to believe this would be money better spent at this point.

Any comments/opinions or outrigger ideas???

Bump your trolling speed up a bit to let the water counteract the wind.  2 on the riggers, 2 on the forward rod holders, 2 on the aft, and install some transom mounts to run flat lines off of.  Will give you 8, but can get messy... Angry

warren,
i like outriggers.  nothing makes a boat look like a fishing machine more than a pair of outriggers.  i ran six lines easy on my 19 sport.  only problem is when you get a bite clearing the extra lines can get hectic.  extra hands on the boat make it easy.  if youre worried about tangles try running heavier straight running lures.  they wont get blown over in windy conditions.  if you get riggers height is more important than spread.  if youre just worried about getting your lures in cleaner water just run them longer.  make widder turns to avoid tangles and run straight runners on the long lines.  if you wnat to run more lines i suggest riggers.  korey
