Bob: Good eyes -- missing a few screws, indeed. Goes well with me -- I've been accused more than once of having a screw loose!

And obviously great minds work together -- I have already taken delivery of two opening hatches (access doors) to replace the (fairly ugly) panels. Not sure why they are there -- it appears that it was an attempt to provide access to the rear of the motors. The other 2950's I've seen photos of have a washdown station with valves, switches and breakers for the bait wells and hose on one side, and two or three other doors. On mine, the only thing on the back wall is one toggle switch on the smaller panel, for the washdown hose in the corner. With the center opening, I can only add a couple of doors, but they will cover most of the wall above the center opening. BTW, it appears the former owner didn't remove those panels too often -- I found both air filters were filthy, and one of the filter "cans" had come loose from the turbo, and was laying on top of the engine. They've been replaced with fresh filters. With the replacement doors, I should have good rear access. And I'm planning to hang that center "notch" section from a pair of two piece hinges, so a person could easily swing it up and remove it to do some work. I am starting to like those twin diesels a lot. Had them both running today, with muffs on the lower units for water. They start almost instantly - less than one second from cranking to running. I've heard good things about the AD41 engines - economy and reliability. Hope they live up to the reputation. And I like the absence of the electricals that go with gasoline I/O's - (plugs, distributor, etc.). I can't imagine trying to work on a pair of Mercruiser V8 chevy engines in this hold!

Next item for the cockpit is coaming pads on both gunwales.
