i've had my 1996 240 sport for 8 years and have been very happy with it.
i replaced the loud and thirsty 225 merc about a year ago with a 225 etec.
the improvement in fuel economy and sound is remarkable. i run at 44mph at wot with a light load and at cruise of 30mph i'm getting about 2.5mpg.
i found the transom livewell a bit small so i mounted a 28gal livewell on the transom platform.
i replaced the anchor roller & bracket with a much larger model since the original one bent during a tug of war with the bottom.
this boat really fits my needs.

WELCOME !!  Thanks for coming on board.  What brand and size anchor roller did you install and which anchor do you use.

Hey I have a 1998 240 sport as well and I agree it is a great boat.  I am envious of your E-tec!  I find that I come across few if any other boats in this class that provide the fishing room and deck space, particularly in back, that I enjoy.  The bracket mounted motor makes all the difference in that respect.

me003........can you comment on the ride?  I often see people criticize the proline CCs for wet and rough rides, but I find that the trim tabs and sensible control of the throttle offer more than enough to compensate in reasonable surf.

Chad,
Something like this might be beneficial:

Note the fairlead on this 20 Express.  Easily installed through the anchor locker. Cheers

MJ,
The one on the 20 Express is Kingston Anchors' BR-15L.  Get a hold of them and I'm sure they'll make one for you.  Kingston Anchors.
