I have a 25 ft Sport, center console, with a 250 Suzuki 4 stroke mounted on a plus 2 bracket that I am thinking about putting a hydraulic jack plate on.  My kids and I fish more in the bay and in some pretty shallow water than we do offshore.  They are still young.  I am wondering if anyone has done this and how it worked.  Are there any issues as to handling and/or extra weight issues, especially with the plus 2 bracket. My biggest concern is if the extra weight that far off the transom will cause any problems with the scuppers.  Any advice would be appreciated.

i installed a th marine jackplate to my 1996 240 sport and love it.
my boat is very similar to yours and the jackplate allows me to get into shallower water.
my 225 etec weighs less than your motor but i don't think that you'll have any problem with the scuppers.
i mounted a 30 gal livewell on the stern platform which adds over 200 pounds and my scuppers still drain out water.
jackplates are not very heavy

Thanks for the feedback.  I found out the jackplate that I am looking at, the TH Atlas, only weighs around 47 lbs.  I don't think it's going to be a problem either, but I have noticed that my scuppers/drains seem to spend a lot of time under water while at rest in wavy conditions so I was a little concerned about putting extra weight back there.  I guess this is normal though as no water seems to come up the tubes into the boat.  Any feedback on that?  Do you notice the same thing?

i didn't pay much attention to it but i can hear the ping pong balls doing their job as the boat rocks.
the only times that the deck doesn't drain is if we have a few people back in the corner of the boat. it was like that even before i added the jackplate.
just do it . you'll love it.
