I want to thank the mods of this site for starting this site.  Pro-Line has been an influence in many a boater's, and many a family's life for quite a long time.  The boat's are solid, and they get you home in one piece, with a catch to serve up to the same people who caught them.

I am a production engineer with Pro-Line Boats, and it would be my pleasure to help you out with any questions you might have about your boats.  I was at Wellcraft for 6 years, a couple of short stints with Hydra-Sports and Intrepid, Stamas Yacht for 5 years, and now Pro-Line for 3.  Pro-Line has truly been the most enjoyable because of the ability I've been given to share my knowledge with the company, and actually see getting it put to use.

So, with the onset of this "new" site, I look forward to seeing the Pro-Line owners, and the myriad of questions that will soon follow.

Tight lines, all!! Smiley

Seabob4, what do you mean by you are a production engineer?  What does a production engineer do?  What are your responsibilities?  Do you own a Pro Line boat?

Thanks!

Kind reminder:  Buckle up:  prevents the aliens from snatching you from your boat.

Joe,
So let's say we have a design engineer that designs the running surface, the deck attributes, the console, the T-Top, etc.  He is now done with his job.

My turn.  I configure and design the electrical harnesses, the engine rigging from our engine suppliers, the sanitation systems, the air conditioning systems, the generator systems, the livewell systems, the fishbox systems, the fresh water systems, the windlasses, the bow thrusters, etc., etc., etc.  I evaluate different components from both a cost and performance standpoint, as well as ease of installation, and implement changes based on the above criteria.

I do all the programming and calibration of the current motors and controls we install.  I determine which electronic packages we are going to offer, as well as planning installation and interfacing of the various electronic devices.  I determine how our commercial boats are going to be configured, rigged, and built.

That's for starters.  So, was there anything you wanted to know in particular?  I am "between" boats right now as the economy has not been kind to us in the industry.  But if I was to buy now, and I could afford it, it would be a 29 Super Sport with twin 300 Suzukis.

I hope I have answered your queries to your satisfaction.

Yikes Bob, that's a lotta work and responsibilities.  Thanks for answering my questions.  Nothing particular I wanted to know.  Just a general understanding of a production engineer at Pro Line boats.  Hope you get your new 29 SS w/twin Suzikis!  Thumbs Up  "Dear Santa, ..."

Joe,
Yes, it is a lot of work.  And as of this moment, I am the sole engineer at Pro-Line.  And it will probably remain that way for quite some time.
