hey bob,i own a 2002 sport 20 which i purchased from the original owner.when drilling holes for trim tabs i got about a cup of water from 6 of the 8 holes.i suspect water got in from transducer holes as they were not sealed very well.should this be a concern?i believe there is no wood in this transom.thanks george

George,
You are correct, there is no wood in your transom.  It is cored with Coosa Bluewater and is impervious to water.  However, I would try to get that accumulated water out of there.  If you don't mind some finish work, I would drill a series of 1/4" holes about 2" above your hull bottom and see what comes out.  Can't do anything but help, as the water adds weight and can eventually cause osmotic blisters to form.

If your happy with the boat, don't do anything.  And enjoy the tabs!

thanks for the reply bob.i fabricated wicks from paper towels & inserted them into the holes with water.left them for two days until they  stopped wicking water.everything was dry when i finished the tab install.sealed all holes & screws with 5200.

George,
Sounds like all went well.  Water has a magical way of getting where you think it never would.  But your transom is fine. Smiley
