I have a 2000 24 Walkaround, I'm in the process of re-powering it with a 300 Yamaha HPDI 2-stroke, I figured I wouldn't gain any speed or fuel economy with a heavier motor. So far I think I'm headed the right direction. The 4-strokes are great but I wanted all the weight for fish and ice.

I have had a Yamaha 4 stroke EFI(on a seapro)went 114 NM and burn 26 gal of gas. Now I have a 22' Proline W/A with hard top loaded with gear. She was repowered in 06 with a Suzuki 225HP. You talk about power AND fuel economy!! We fished out of Rudee Inlet and went all the way down past wright memorial and burned 30 gallons of gas!! That was 115 NM !! That motor is super quite and has over 500 hours. Never misses a beat. I would buy another Suzuki. Oh and with the boat loaded and the 225 the scuppers are well above the water line. dont be fooled the four strokes are a little heavier but not that much. I have had 2 strokes but have changed to fours! Thumbs Up
