hi. newbie here. i am looking to purchase my first boat, a 99 proline 190 with a 125 mercury 2 stroke.  Mercury 125 looked to be in great shape. Compression was 140-145 on all cylinders, but boat was sluggish.  With 3 adults, we were only reaching 24 mph.  owner said he usually runs about 34 mph when solo. can an extra 350 lbs have that much of an effect? boat is located in Florida, and is bottom painted, and has been sitting in water for a few months. bottom has some algae growth and needs to be cleaned. what kind of top end should i be expecting, and will cleaning the hull have that big an impact on mph. what else can i do to increase the mph, and what is considered typical for this setup?  any ideas on what could be the problem, and any suggestions would be appreciated. thanks in advance. i was planning on rebuilding the carbs if purchased (will that have any effect?), as well as plugs, lower unit oil, and impeller.

I have the performance specs for you, model, year, and H.P's.
Tried to post them on this site but was bounced back "too large"?
If you'll E me your E, I'll immediatly get them to you.
It appears you need to clean the bottom, but the performance specs will show you more.

mike,
email sent . thanks so much.

I'm having a problem "sending".
Got all the info for you, will try again in the A.M.
Sorry,
Our "IP" folks cant seem to overcome my "sending" capabilities.
Something like the system at DONZI, seems to not dance well with the system at PRO-LINE, neither is compatable when I'm working at home?!?
Dont you love these things?

Did you recieve either of the two E's I sent?
First was specs
Second was prop info, 13 x 19 "Black Max" SST.

If not, one or both, how about a fax number?
