the livewell on my 1996 240 sport was too small so i added this one to the swim platform. i got this aquaworld UT-29 from boaters world.com .
it's much bigger than the transom well and i now use the transom well for drinks. i installed a shurflo dual port pump to the seacock so i can use both wells if needed and i bored a hole in the transom to run the hose to the new well . the blue hose you see is the outflow which just lays on the platform.
i installed the power switch next to the one for the transom livewell pump. it's in the recessed area on the aft starboard side next to the transom door. the bait stays alive longer and i can load much more into it too. it was a very easy installation

Excellent, bud!  I wish we could design larger livewells in boats in the 24-26 range, but obviously, that is not always the case.

One question.  How is the tank secured?  I see what looks to be small L-brackets at the aft base, but is there more?

I have to agree!, the livewell on my 251 is only good for a handful of hardy baits. I have a 30 gal round barrel I converted to a bait tank which mounts to the front of my I/O box on the days I use it. Works great...but, If I had a full width swim step, I would have done an install like yours.

The livewell on my 24 SS is a major improvement in design!

they are s.s L-brackets which are through-bolted to the platform and bolted to the livewell. it has stainless threaded inserts to make installation easy.
i was a bit cautious with this mounting but it holds very well without any other support.
i used to have a 30 gal round barrell in the same location but it began to crack.

the transom livewell (now a drinkbox) could use some insulation. what about using aerosol expanding foam?

Will work like a charm.  Get the good stuff, though, and apply it a little at a time.  Too much, and the weight will make it drop down before it kicks off.

I have the 2005 Sport 19, live bait tank=Beer cooler. I removed the flip/flop cooler seat, put a 27 gal kodiak bait tank, built a box around it, painted with Marine grade top paint and put the flip/flop back rest and seat on top. Works great no more dead bait. One day I will replace the plywood box with a fiberglass one. For now it works and looks good.

I think you did a excellent job and was very creative in using the room you had without causing yourself something you will trip over.

I purchased my 2003 25 Sport from the dealer showrrom without a livewell at the leaning post.  I added an aftermarket 40 gallon livewell and additional pumping system.  It works great.  I prefer having the weight near the center of the boat.  I then decomissioned my transom livewell and use it for storage.

In my previous post I attached pictures.  I can see them when logged in, but do not see them when I am not logged in.  Does anyone know what I may have done wrong?
Thanks!
