2012 monkey off da back!

went looking for some fish for the superbowl on Saturday 2/4/12... this is what we found.

Double ahi and da mokey off our backs for 2012! the one on the left weighed 103lbs and the other went 92lbs.

heard ahis were getting $7-8 a lb at the auction block but decided to cut both fish for friends n family.

so everyone could enjoy some cherry sashimi!

Beautiful!

What is your preferred technique? Best live bait? My goal is to break 100# down in Baja....but the YFT fishing has been very iffy for me.

We catch most of our ahi on trolling lures. The only time we use live bait is in the porpoise school. I really want to do a pv trip and catch one of those super cows. My biggest ahi so far weighed 201lbs. Would love to break the 300lb mark.

Outstanding! Wish we had them in the Chesapeake Bay, but have to go offshore out of OC to get them or out of Virginia Beach...makes me hungry just to see them...good on ya!
