Hi All,
i was wondering if anyone out there have added any more storage to the 23 walkaround (i believe around 2001-2004, or the 24 walkaround from 2004-2006).  I love everything about the boat, except it is a little shy on storage compartments.  Has anyone put anymore storage under the seats on the port or starboard side?  This means cutting holes in the fiberglass.Or how about under sink or beside the cold storage compartment in cuddy, or is there any other spots?  Any and all suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

Know what is behind before cutting, often  there will be foam, stringer ,support etc.
also cutting reduces strength so consider carefully before any cut, there is often little to be gained. what stuff do you plan on stowing? i find dashboard top best place for small items, and binoculars etc.
try using plastic containers like you get at target or wmt to stow gear in cabin on berth , if you only use cabin at anchor this works very well,
boxes can go on deck when you need cabin, a bungee across berth will often hold in place.
i use this method on a 231 to store 3bags of pfs, bag of clothes and towels, ditch bag/epirb,Provisions box and sleeping stuff.
cabin forward is full with just enough room for one seated or child napping next to stuff.
at anchor with 1 aboard all the stuff goes on deck except bedding ,clothing and ditchbag
and i sleep well for the night .
even storage under berth is hard to use below cusions so i stow spare parts, table leg, extra plastic cups etc there.
or, if you have a hard top get pne of those nets that hangs on the underside to stow extra pfds, coats, towels , etc.

My friend (23walk) is making some boxes to hold tackle trays. His plan is to install these between the seat and pedestal. He wanted to raise the seat height anyway. He hasn't finished this project yet so I have no endorsement.

IF YOU have the pedestal seats in any proline dont miss out in the storage there below. Smiley
some boats have short pedestals on top of tall boxes , my year has the short box tall pedestal setup.
a big soft tackle bag fits nicely under thepassegers secured to the pedestal via strap.
under the helm I have a pair  of maglight clips and a 3dcell maglight ever at the ready beneath the seat and a plastic ammo type dry box of of gear between the pedestal and side "wing."
also if you dont have tackle boxes in the sidewings pull an access plate and check depth
there may be storage room in there but watch out por wiring harnesses, through hulls, fresh water pumps etc before you ever cut.

Thanks all for your input.  I really appreciate the help.  I will explore those options in the next couple of weeks, after i have pulled the boat out of the water, when the fishing season is done.
