I am new to the site and have a question.  I have a 2005 24' W/A with a Suzuki DF250.  It has the OEM prop which is 16 x 18.5 3 blade.  I want to go to a 4 blade. Power Tech has suggested a 16 x 17.  Has anyone made this change?  Any suggestions?

Thanks, Paul

I don't have that setup but it sounds about right.  Rule of thumb when switching from a 3 to 4 blade prop is to drop 2 pitch.  If you are buying a Suzuki brand prop have it checked by a local shop if it doesn't run where you expect.  I've heard several times that Suzuki props have quality control issues and the measured pitch differs from what it is supposed to be.

I swapped to a Merc Rev 4, 21 inch pitch. It has better bite and more nose up trim. Check out my results. I should have the 19 inch to reach a bit higher in the WOT rpm range.

My research suggested that the PowerTech is a bit more of a performance gamble, cavitation and blow-outs. So, I went with the Merc. I didn't have the option of trial and error.
