The Danforth anchor that came with the boat when my son and I bought it last year is banging up the fiberglass on the sprit.  It doesn't lie flat and the shank hits the back of the slot.  I've tried a few plow type anchors without finding one that fits.  Any suggestions on a specific model?  Was the sprit standard equipment that year?

Do you mean the "bow pulpit" im pretty sure, "sprit" is normally just a spar rather than a wider extension forward. probably standard if fiberglass, if wood i dont know, may be option,

does it have a roller with a  rode retention hoop and a couple little bent extensions from the bottom of the roller frame forward.?

If so a different anchor should fit with flukes tight up against extensions .
if you have an open shank anchor it will fit over the pulpit top rail.
also there are several other rail type mounts that will possibly fit if pulpit doesent get along with any anchor.

Thank you.  It is a pulpit - poor choice of words on my part.  The bow rail extends around it.  There's a slot for the rode to pass through with a roller (just a metal roller, no wheel on it) and the extensions below for the flukes.

Maybe I should include a picture ...

I've purchased a couple of plow type anchors and had to return them because the shaft length was wrong - if it's too short the shaft rests on the pulpit fiberglass and if it's too long the flukes don't line up with the extensions so it bounces around in waves.

picture worth many words .
lay a yardstick on on the pulpit when you take pictures.
a friend of mine with a 23 seaswirl where the anchor rode went through a passage in the pulpit deck could not find an anchor that fit and rode well in a ready to deploy mode , he eventually gave up, there is probably a  trick that i dont know on those ones, but someone will i hope. Banging Head
