Hi Y'all. I keep stumbling across this site looking for information for my newly aquired 2002 Proline 23 Sport, so figured I'd join and show you what I'm up against.

The whole story on The Hull Truth..

http://www.thehulltruth.com/boating-forum/355751-price-check-aisle-12-neglected-low-hour-boat.html

Long story short, I found this Pro-Line in a neighbors yard, it had been sitting for 6 or so years, uncovered, cushions in, under cypress trees. There were bushes growing out of the fishboxes. Turns out the owner hurt his back before putting almsot 100 hours on the Merc 225 EFI, and it's been parked since. I made him an offer, he accepted, and I after a brief ordeal, drug it home.

as found..aint she pretty

home now

Spent the better part of a day cleaning it up. Lots-o-bleach, and 2 gallons of gas through the pressure washer..

So, that was the first weekend. I've had a few weekends since, and this is what I've done so far:

Replaced trailer springs, hubs, all lower hardware, and wheels/tires.
Bled the steering
Pumped 60+ gallons from the fuel tank and wiped it clean inside.
Replaced the VST Tank.
Pulled the old nasty fuel line from tank to engine.
Cleaned the low pressure pump.
Cleaned the fuel rail, throttle body, and flushed the injectors.
Hooked up engine to remote tank and flushed engine fuel lines.
Replaced plugs
A few other small engine related things..

Fired her up last weekend and she sounds pretty good. woop.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QOJbQIX7U8g&feature=youtu.be

I still have a crapload of stuff to do. This weekend I plan on replacing the fuel line from tank to engine, and installing my new water seperator. Also plan to replace the shift/throttle cables, and the rigging tube. Then the water pump, and a few fresh batteries. With that, the engine side of the project will be pretty much done.

To do:
T-Top Canvas (is on the way)
Upholstery (anyone here recommend anyone?)
Sort all the wiring and pumps/minor electrical
Cut/Buff the hull inside and out
Go fishing

I've never owned a Pro-Line, nor a Merc outboard, so I am looking forward to any and all advice or assistance with this project.

Sweet find!!

Wait until you run her.........you will very pleased! Thumbs Up

My understanding is that 23 Sport is essentially the same hull as my 24 Super Sport. Called a "23" for SKA requirements. It is a Donzi hull without the steps. There was a hull mod in later years which extended the running surface (to account for heavier 4S??). Mine has trim tabs which are useful for side adjustments. I rarely use the tabs for nose down changes.

I am not sure of your livewell location or layout. One of the first things I did was re-plumb mine for separate live-well and washdown pumps. Otherwise mine was really dialed in when I bought her. The 225hp is plenty and will give you a mid - high 20 knot cruise and about 40 tops.

I watched the u-tube video. Music to your ears when she fired!

That's a pretty boat a7ewizard.

My livewell is integrated with the leaning post, which is a little different. It seems big enough for what I do though.

I'm looking forward to running her. I sold my '05 Cobia 21' Walkaround because with the 19 degree deadrise, 8'6" Beam, and the forward seating, it would beat your teeth in while running in anything over 2'. Taking that girl 40 miles out would get old real quick, in anything but absolute glass conditions. My wife really wanted another walkaround, but I just couldnt find one that I liked in my price range. I hope to add a bow-dodger later, once I work all the bugs out and get her looking good again.

I have the next 12 days off of work, and hope I can get enough done on her to water test..

Welcome to the PRO-LINE family. You are going to enjoy that boat. She looks beautiful now. What a turn around. PRO-LINE is a great boat, I love mine and I get nothing but complements every time I take her out. If you don't mind me asking, what was that offer that you made to your neighbor? By the looks of the original condition you probably made a great deal.

I gave the the neighbor $9k and two inexpensive small caliber revolvers.

Finished up the engine today. New shift/throttle cables, new fuel line and water seperator. Replaced rigging tube. Installed 2 new batteries. Replaced warning buzzer. Replaced water pump.

She looks clean and shiny in the pics, but that's because the gelcoat is wet. The boat is still filthy and in need of a few solid days of cleaning and polishing.

What's the name/number of the upholstery guy here? I've taken my cushions to 2 local places for estimates (3 days ago) and neither have called me back.  Angry

Sounds like a steal for a boat with less then 100 hours Thumbs Up. Even with the work you are doing on her. As long as that motor is sound you should have no problem with that hull.

His user name is "The cushion guy or cushion guy" you should be able to find him in the members tab. He dose the cushions for the PRO-LINE factory. Have fun with that boat.

my speakers are the box type i mounted to the side of the electronics box but i will be removing them this fall and install four two up front and two where the t-top is.
i have been another one of these boats and you cannot hear it while running no matter where you put them.
i also will be using my lower storage box in center console for all my eletronics this fall also. hey call if you any questions

I ended up sticking two speakers in the electronics box facing down, and two in the transom above the hatches. Stereo in the center console box. The center console design isn't very friendly when it comes to mounting speakers. There's really no good place for them. I hope I can hear them when running. If not, I'll get better speakers and an amp. I gotta have tunes.

Got my canvas on as well.

If the weather cooperates I might splash her this weekend.
