I have a one year old 26 SS with a 300 Zuki. Last couple of months, the motor would fall back to idle shortly after coming up on plane after sitting out at a sandbar for several hours. After several outings with the same issue, I pumped the primer bulb only to realize the line had lost it's prime. Now, as long as I pump the bulb prior to leaving, the problem has gone away. Question is;

1. Should I have to prime the fuel system prior to every use?
2. If not, what is causing the fuel line to lose prime.

To question #1, I would say "no". The only time i pump the bulb is when starting after a long sit on the trailer..

To question #2, I would first make sure all the fuel line fittings are fully seated and the hose clamps tight. No leaks or cracks in the hose. Then, if the problem persists, I would swap out the bulb.

Next step would be confer with a Suzuki repair facility for their diagnosis.
