I have a '98 251WA.  Anyone every install a cd player & speakers on this model?  If so, where did you mount your stuff, just looking for some examples first!

Mine was done at the factory. The player is mounted inside the cabin near the shore power panel. There is a pair of inside speakers and a pair outside. The outside pair are mounted in the rear side of the helm, just outside of the storage lid behind the helm seats.

This outside location is poor placement as it subjects the speakers to salt spray and washdown effects. I have replaced the original speakers and have lost sound from one of the 2 replacements. I seldom listen to music/radio when I am out so it isn't such a big deal.

The integrated electronics box with speakers (a la my 24 SS) mounted to the hardtop would be my first choice given a do over. I don't know if this can be ordered directly from PL but I would call customer service and inquire.

Otherwise, speakers mounted in the side panels and more forward or box speakers mounted to the hardtop.

Thank you for the info!  Now you've given me another question, I have been all through my boat fixing everything and my boat was listed w/ shore power, but I've never seen it.  Where is yours located and what am I really looking for?  I really don't think I'm equipped w/ it, but hell, I'm usually buzzed when I'm working on my boat!~
