Anyone attempt to install a marine toilet in the 22 walk. Spoke to a ProLine rep. and he seems to feel that the stringer will not allow enough room for the 1 3/4" discharge pipe. I was thinking of making the floor where the porta potti is a large access hatch and mount the new toilet on top of it. Any thoughts would be appreciated! Thanks

I have a 2002 22' Walk. I have my portable toilet located under the center cushion in the v of the v berth. It works like a champ. I wouldnt go to the trouble of a external tank type in that boat. My $0.02

I have my portable toilet there also, but I want to install a permanent toilet. I'll use a locking valve for USCG purposes. I need info on the install - space, logistics etc...

I have the factory installed marine toilet in my 251. I really don't think I would ever attempt to retro install one in a boat our size.

*New thru-hull with sea cock for RW flush (mine is accessed via a flip-up stair below the cabin door).
*Two switch panel. A switch to turn on the flush pump. The other to run the macerator pump-out. Wiring, fuses, above water-line discharge. Discharge selector valve. 2 pumps. Pump-out deck fitting (mounted in deck of walk-around).

Access to run needed hoses and wires. Access for hull and deck fittings. Very involved. Cramped work areas.

Even after you pump these out, you still need to flush and rinse, add chemicals/deoderizers,,etc.

Mine is for emergencies only. The porta-potti may be your best option, IMO.
