Speedometer not working

Hi all, I have a 225hp merc opt on a 23 WA, my speedometer at the helm is working.

Could there be something stuck in the tube, if so, how do you  rectify thE problem, replace the tube?

I just replace the water pump, and had to disconnect the speedo line, while I had the lower unit on the bench, I used the air compressor and tried to blow some air through the intake hole on the LU, but did fell anything coming out the tube. I don't no if I should feel it, as I am not familiar with it.

you may have pinched the hose with the foot i have done that before or there could be something stuck in the hose.
i have had salt or sand in the hose a couple of time's

It wasn't working before I dropped the LU.

How did you fix the problem with the salt/sand?

Update,

After splashing the boat to return to the marina, all is well with the speedometer.
 I guess it was a piece of debris clogging the tube. All I did was blow compressed air and then water from the hose.
 Now my nav lights arnt working

There aren't any users online.
