I think have asked this question before and I have not seen answer from the famous Mike C or anyone else. I will ask again. I have 1999 241WA with 220hp Johnson outboard. I cannot get a good answer on how much the boat weighs. Sure, I could go to a weigh station but who has time for that when it is time go fishing or cruisin'.

I also need to know the best cruising speed. I think I have a 160 gal tank and that 2 stroke Johnson drinks a lot but I wanted to get an idea of an range at cruising speed. I am thinking about 20 MPH and 4000 RPMs

Also, I cannot find the fresh water tank to save my life. I have been looking on the starboard side and I cannot find it anywhere. If indeed I do not have one where I am supposed to have one, how can I get a tank. I think I can install myself with some help.

I just bought this boat in OCT and the weather is breaking here so I want to these questions answered so that I do not get stuck off shore! Thanks for the help.

justjon - My bad. I mis-typed. It is 24' but the boat model name is 231...easy mistake. I am navy guy and back from time at sea and ready to get back out there. Do you fill your freshwater directly to the tank or do you have use a fitting? Thanks, sixmitch

The 1997 catalog lists the hull weight of the 231 at 3740 pounds. The fuel capacity is 138 gallons.

Add weights of hardtop, full fuel, engine, gear, etc. I would guess you will be 6000 plus.
